As a partner and sponsor of the PUT Rocketlab team, RENEX Group had the honor of participating in the official presentation of the HEXA 5 sounding rocket – the latest project by students of the Poznań University of Technology. The ceremony, held on April 17 at the university’s Lecture Center, brought together representatives from the academic community, public institutions, the media, and technology partners supporting the development of space engineering in Poland.

HEXA 5 is another groundbreaking project by PUT Rocketlab – a rocket over 4 meters in length, with a diameter of 160 mm and a launch mass of approximately 60 kg. It is equipped with a hybrid propulsion system powered by the BROOMSTICK 2+ engine, considered the most powerful student-developed rocket engine of its kind in Poland. The structure was built using proprietary composite lamination technology with carbon fiber and epoxy resin, and incorporates numerous structural, aerodynamic, and functional improvements over previous versions.

The team plans to present HEXA 5 at the prestigious international FAR-OUT 2025 competition in the United States. Due to the nature of the event, the students will need to transport the rocket in parts and then assemble and test it on site. The first group of PUT Rocketlab team members is scheduled to fly to the U.S. as early as May, continuing the path they began with their success at the Spaceport America Cup 2023, where they won first place in one of the most demanding categories.

RENEX Group actively supports this project—not only financially, but also technologically. The collaboration includes providing specialized tools, electronic components, and the know-how necessary for precision assembly work. For RENEX Group, involvement in such initiatives is not only an expression of social responsibility but also a strategic investment in the development of future competencies and the Polish space sector.

Support for the HEXA 5 project is a continuation of RENEX Group’s extensive efforts to promote technical education and the development of young talent. For years, the company has been collaborating with technical universities, vocational schools, and student teams, including PUT Motorsport, which designs and builds electric and autonomous race cars for the Formula Student competition. RENEX Group supported the team by providing JBC soldering stations and workshop equipment essential for executing projects at a world-class level.

At the same time, the company is involved in both local and nationwide initiatives, such as the Pro Gaming Cup e-sports tournament, the Polish U18 and U23 Athletics Championships, as well as charitable campaigns including the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity and the Noble Gift (Szlachetna Paczka) initiative. All of these efforts form a cohesive strategy aimed at supporting educational, social, and technological communities.

RENEX Group’s efforts are also recognized on the international stage. For many years, the Group has served as a trusted partner of the European Space Agency (ESA), organizing and supporting training and certification events of international significance. The RENEX EEC Training Center, operating within the company’s structure, confirms its strong position in the Central and Eastern European market as a hub for educating future specialists in the electronics and space industries—thanks to its high educational standards and professional approach to training delivery.

The presentation of HEXA 5 is not only the result of many months of work by the students, but also a testament to the importance of responsible support from industry. RENEX Group is proud to stand alongside projects that build a bridge between science and practice, empowering young engineers to reach ever greater heights—both literally and symbolically.
