The task of an ultrasonic cleaner is to solve the basic problems faced by specialists in various industries, including electronics – removing dirt from electronic equipment and cleaning post-production and post-assembly residues such as solder paste and fluxes.

Modern electronics largely consists of small, extremely delicate SMD components and, unfortunately, is becoming increasingly rarely cleanable with traditional mechanical methods. It is not difficult to damage it, so cleaning it with a brush, despite its high efficiency, causes damage to components in the manufactured or serviced electronics and increases costs.

The solution to the problem is cleaning with the use of delicate but effective ultrasonic waves, which, combined with appropriately selected washing liquids for PCBs, allow the removal of surface contamination, without the need to reach for mechanical methods. The risk of damage to the electronics in this process is therefore minimised.

HOW DO ULTRASONIC CLEANERS WORK?

RECCO ultrasonic cleaners are made of high quality materials – stainless steel and a basket of acid-resistant stainless wire, making them suitable for industrial use.

The appropriate amount of PCB cleaning liquid should be poured into the chamber of the washer, suitable for the elements or packages being cleaned.

Then the cleaned items are placed in the basket and finally the whole thing sinks into the bath. The ultrasound generator placed at the bottom of the tank creates acoustic waves which, due to the cavitation phenomenon, stimulate particles of the chemical preparation to vibrate. The sped up molecules hit the dirty surface, tearing off any dirt on it. In addition, the whole process takes place in a short time.

WHICH ULTRASONIC CLEANER TO CHOOSE?

The smallest model of the REECO ultrasonic cleaner is marked US100. It has a 7.3 litre bath and is equipped with an ultrasonic generator with a power of up to 100 W, with a heating power of 350 W.

This model is recommended to work in the field of small electronics service, but also in jewellery and watchmaking. The large depth and large dimensions of the tank allow for simultaneous cleaning of many small elements during the same process, including those with medium size surfaces, such as smartphones, tablets and navigation mainboards.

The slightly larger model of the US200 ultrasonic cleaner with a 12-litre bath capacity is equipped with a 200-watt generator and 500-watt heating power. The large tank will make it possible to use the washer not only in the case of production or servicing of large mainboards of portable computers or RTV devices. It can be successfully used in the dental industry, optical industry or laboratories for cleaning instruments.

The RECCO US300 ultrasonic cleaner is a large cleaning device with a tank capacity of 26 litres. An ultrasonic generator of up to 400 W is responsible for cleaning. The heating power of this device is 1000 W. This really big washer is suitable for industrial production and servicing of large-sized electronics.

It can be successfully used in the gunsmithing industry to clean weapons, medium-sized mechanical components for engines, bearings or injections, as well as in medical tool washing applications such as endoscopes, in laboratories for cleaning trays, bioanalysers and laboratory instruments.

The largest, specialized model of the ultrasonic cleaner has the symbol US400. Thanks to the capacity of a large tank (60l) and combined with the enormous power (800 W) of the ultrasonic generator, the ultrasonic cleaner is able to clean very large elements not only of industrial electronics, but it will also prove itself in automotive industry.

Whatever your needs, choosing an ultrasonic cleaner is not just a choice of parameters from the data sheet. For each process and the element to be cleaned it is necessary to choose the right PCB cleaning fluid. At the stage of selecting a the supplier is worth verifying whether such a service is provided. Sometimes it may involve performing time-consuming tests. However, after they are done, we can be 100% sure that the washing processes are effective.

FULLY DIGITISED OPERATION

REECO ultrasonic cleaners are modern microprocessor controlled devices. Programming of the washing process is done using the control panel installed on the front casing.

The operation is facilitated by a display which informs about programmed parameters, such as current temperature value, washing cycle time and generator power. The user can define the temperature at which the washing process is to take place, to ensure maximum efficiency of the process.

Additionally, the washer can actively control the current temperature of the washing liquid PCB. When its temperature during operation exceeds the defined temperature, the device will go to sleep mode until the chemicals cool down.

The ultrasonic cleaner is an indispensable piece of equipment in the electronics workstation for manufacturing, assembling and servicing electronic devices.

Only a high quality device, supported by an efficient ultrasonic generator operating under properly configured operating conditions of the washer, is able to ensure effective work of the technician while maintaining safety and ergonomics.
